Hika Lite

One of my goals this year is a hone up on my Te Reo where most needed. Currently the beginning and end of meetings for KDEC involve a karakia, prayer or welcome. With very little to go on other than written material, I did some research and found an app that is not only free, but can be used on our iphones/ipads and will give clear examples for an situation where Hika might be appropriate.

The app allows me to plan out a short introduction and then plays it back to me so that I can practice and learn it. This is just a single feature of the app; other functions include songs, welcomes, greetings, protocol, casual chat, phrases and expressions as well as a range of ways to practice in a fun way.

My plan is to start using the spiritual protocol feature to generate a simple, four line introduction/welcome to team meetings.
