The student in question is english second language and despite having a fairly high score (yet still below age) still has made no progress over the year in the area of word recognition / vocab. This is a clear and urgent need and has been reflected in my planning for this week and in all future sessions. We will be spending a small period each session boosting up his vocab and building a pool of words that he can refer back to on a regular basis.
The overall aim will be a considerable increase in his Burt reading score in term two, 2015.
