It was a great opportunity for my student to visit a supermarket and look behind the scenes in order to see how the food is prepared, packaged and presented. The opportunity to actively shop for some items, discuss the purposes of certain items and to actually cook lunch was a language rich opportunity that will lead into several weeks language work. On a social level my student was able to interact with many other students who used hearing aids, and given that he was one of the oldest present, he was able to take a leadership role.
